Week 7

Hi Team,

I hope you all enjoyed having an extra sleep in this morning and you were able to do something nice with your family over the long weekend. I was lucky enough to get a round of golf in today which was lovely in the sunshine!

On Friday I was blown away by the number of 'Random Acts of Kindness' that were carried out for homework. I hope you had a chance to talk with your child about this. I have been blown away by the timing of this homework project, as there was a story about 'Random Acts on Kindness' on Seven Sharp on Monday night.

This week;
Tuesday - testing in preparation for reports. I will be doing testing in class this week while the children are completing independent tasks.
Wednesday - Rippa rugby tournament. I will be away at the tournament with Mr Yeoman - Mrs Ward will have the children from Room 4, 5 and 6 who are not participating in the Rippa Tournament.
Thursday - testing day in preparation for reports.
Friday - Room 5 are stepping in for the envirogroup and will be helping to plant trees along Boundary Road from 10am for an hour or so. Children can wear their sports uniforms and tracksuits to school. I am leaving at lunchtime to go to Auckland - Trina will be in Room 5 for the afternoon.

I won't be back at school until Monday after lunch - Trina will be looking after Room 5 on Monday morning as well.

Homework:
Project - Master chef - over the next two weeks you child will plan, prepare and make a meal for your family to enjoy. Of course you can help but it would be nice for your child to take charge and let you put your feet up for the night. They will need to present (powerpoint, iMovie, poster, book, recipe with photos or another creative way) what they made for dinner on Friday12th June.
Spelling, reading and maths - just like usual, due on Friday 5th.

Camp:
No one has come forward offering to help organize the fundraising for camp. I have heard from one parent that they would like to fundraise which is great. We are planning on having a fundraising meeting in the next week or so. The cost of camp is going to be reasonably high this year (around 300-400) so fundraising might be a good way to make camp affordable. I will send permission slips out in the next few weeks to get the ball rolling. Please let me know if you are interested in helping organize or if you would like to fundraise.

That's all for now.

Have a great week!

Jo :)
